چکیده

This paper contributes to the discussion on the issues related to the formal development of open distributed systems. The deficiencies of traditional formal notations in this setting are highlighted. We argue that there is no single formalism exhibiting all the features required. As a solution, we propose a multiformalism platform that involves three formalisms: UML, OUN and PVS-SL. We discuss the motivation for the choice of these formalisms and the main research issues underlying this kind of platform.

Qos Formal Specification of Engineering Language

Distributed systems can be very large and complex and the many different considerations which influence their design can result in a substantial body of specification, which needs a structuring framework if it is to be managed successfully. The purpose of the RM-ODP is to define such a framework. The Reference Model for Open Distributed Processing (RM-ODP) provides a framework within which supp...

Comprehensive Speci cation of DistributedSystems Using I

Low level diiculties in the development of distributed systems that are due to non-standard communication protocols and incompatible components or platforms have largely been solved through standardization and commoditization of protocols and platforms. Distributed systems are being designed at higher levels of sophistication these days, and having an expressive yet usable speciication language...

The Governance of National Community Health Worker Programmes in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: An Empirically Based Framework of Governance Principles, Purposes and Tasks

Background National community health worker (CHW) programmes are increasingly regarded as an integral component of primary healthcare (PHC) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). At the interface of the formal health system and communities, CHW programmes evolve in context specific ways, with unique cadres and a variety of vertical and horizontal relationships. These programmes need...

Towards a Uml Profile for Trace Analysis of Distributed Systems

TOWARDS A UML PROFILE FOR TRACE ANALYSIS OF DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS UML concepts and tools are increasingly applied in several areas of software engineering. The recent additions in UML 2.0 and the supporting tools, especially Tau G2, open the door even for wider applicability of these concepts and tools in areas like distributed system development. In this paper, we report on the ongoing work to d...

An integrated fuzzy multiple objective decision framework to optimal fulfillment of engineering characteristics in quality function development

Quality function development (QFD) is a planning tools used to fulfill customer expectation and QFD is a systematic process to translating customer requirement (WHATs) into technical description (HOWs). QFD aims to maximize customer satisfactions related to enterprise satisfaction. The inherent fuzziness of relationships in QFD modeling justifies the use of fuzzy regression for estimating the r...
